Good call with the stm slipper. Quality kit! The 998S had the 50mm system on it. Try to get a 54mm system as they reckon this is the optimum size...

Looks like the shock could do with a refresh anyway, when was the last time it was serviced? I had mine refreshed with new spring, shock body and...
And a £10 bench grinder to sharpen the bits. They are surprisingly easy to sharpen once you know how.

Scottish brite. If not too deep, by hand. Any deeper and Scottish brite on an orbital sander will leave a nice uniform satin finish.

Do it mate! Carbon ones probably work just as well. But the good thing about an alloy tank is that if it doesn’t leak to begin with, it never will.
