They're special bolts but basically, M6 x 20 ish, oversized button heads.
There are two types of std top yoke for the 748/998 range. Basically they both fit but the top yokes from the later bikes have a different set up...
I think the only problem with the 1098 bearings was on the 2007 model. I think they upgraded the part after 2008 but not all 2007 models failed....
