I actually like the XR, the best of the adv/gt bikes looks wise for me. Unfortunately large capacity bikes don’t do anything on public highways...
For my taste, you’d need to take it all the way back to standard. Nothing you’ve done to your bike would make it desirable for me. GLWS

My mate has had 3X S1000r, reckons it the best bike he’s owned and he’s had a fair few. As you say they eat tyres, he’s had no better than 1500...

Nothing that technical for him, just the pinch bolts on the front wheel. Snapped one bolt he’s going to wait until his front tyre needs replacing...
Yeah but he’s a habit of snapping low torque bolts, as on his Tuono.
My mate doesn’t do Torque wrenching preferring to feel his way…………..
