Over tighten I guess. Stick a big arsed spanner on that nut and would be very easy to over torque.
Heard rumors if you tighten by the nut they blow oil at high pressure on track. Useful to help undo though. That's for HF and K&N.
If that's the one with the nut on the top I wouldn't use it to do it up. I use HF on all my bikes with no issues.

Life at track is much nicer if you drive there, not ride IMO. A trailer isn't stupid cash and warmers make a massive difference to the day.
