The TPS doesn't need a reset with a new battery. Check your air temperature sensor, if wrong can cause poor starting. @20 degrees C +/- 1 degree...

I wouldn't fit a power commander before having the balance & CO set up by someone that can! Will make a noticeable difference if the TPS, balance...
Could be that the voltage regulator failed when very hot, when you get it started check the charging voltage.

If the fuel delivery system is all good including pump pressure, then I'd next check ignition pick up gap and if correct then change/swop the pick up.
