just double checking, MOSFET say not to use a lithium battery with their reg/rec and you are saying not to use a lithium battery with the OEM...
found the old rectifier and fitted it,but still have the same problem .it was in working order before i changed it. i cannot cancel the error...
the rectifier was replaced and a heat shield through a recall on the 2007 models about 2015 so hopefully its a newer reg/rec. surely the problem...

the gap in the photo opposite the bolt is the widest point,thats the middle of the circlip. its a 2007.

don,t want to dismantle it yet,until i double check what type of disc it is. if its a floating disc should there be 1-1.5mm play ?. i will attach...
just checked the movement and it can move 1.5 mm up,down or around. as cookster said on the first reply, its classed as a floating disc
there has always been movement in the disc, ie past ten years. it should be the standard disc that comes with the bike.
