I thought the bike had to be coded by Ducati to let it know there was a keyless fuel cap ?

As suggested - I keep keys in a faraday type box and this comes with a puch to use when you're out and about....
OK - either I was just lucky the first two times I did this on my 950 and my V2S .. but - as you say - looks like there's an easy ability to screw...
