Also, turns out all 525 chain links don't fit all 525 chains. The pins on a DID link are to great on diameter to fit in an IRIS chain.

True, my 996 uses the same oil filter as a Citroen 2CV. but an oil filter just filters oil. I don't know many V-twin Peugeot's than run at 10k...

No. It's something like every 2 years or 12k mls. Check the service book. Most go 3 years quite happily though.
