i'd have to drill out one of the disc holes too and i think it would stand out its a different bolt. i'd rather have a Helicoil.

no, needs a Helicoil as it just spins.
Never done Helicoil but seen the clips and know theory. Would just rather first time was front brake disc on a rather expensive part.
How about if I put a longer bolt through and stick a nut on the other side????
But the hole is oval. If I try to tap it will go off centre then when I insert the Helicoil it will be out of line.
Ok, how about building up the hole with Q-bond then helicoil?

Thing is the hole isn't round, it's been ovaled at the top. Bike pretty much stripped now. Wheels ready for tyres to come off tomorrow then find...

Ok, this ain't funny. Took front wheel our, went to undo brake disc bolts and one was particularly lose. Looks like I'll need the wheel repairing....
