re: hot crankcase I think you are right - hot exhaust/hot crankcase it's all bad news if there's no room for the brake fluid to expand if it...
It seemed too easy to me and couldn't believe you wouldn't have sussed it, hence my reply. Glad you fixed it up with no stripped threads :upyeah:
similar can happen on 748/9** as also right next to exhaust. If there is too little free play in the pushrod travel when in the 'off' position you...
The rectifier might be a long term problem but it can't be your immediate starting problem which has to be down to a fault with the heavy duty...
