I’ve just had a similar experience. Took the 899 out for a ride to test the throttle fix and while going round a fairly blind left hander a wagon...
It’s not a tracker unit is it, looks very similar to the tracker I removed from a bike.
That’s pretty much what I’ve done.
Noticed excessive play in the throttle on the 899 today so stripped it down when I got back to find the throttle spacer had disintegrated. Fixed...
Walked the dogs while I waited for it to warm up a bit and then got the 899 out. I think it’s winter jacket and gloves time, I was bloody freezing.
