I always run e5 in all my stuff (even the mower) but only Esso in my Nsr250 as I’m trying to avoid dissolving the centre crank seal.
I’ve used the Plastex kits and they work really well.

As said check the battery voltage first but even when my battery was totally dead it still lit the dash up.
