Some folks tape up the holes in the handguards that allow to the lever reach adjusters. This blocks off a lot of the wind.
Open the nipple, pull the lever, tighten the nipple, release the lever, repeat as necessary. No need for a one way valve.
There is no up-map for the 2010-12 bikes, it's an ECU swap. I've idea what the later bikes say at power up.
