Look through the inspection window in the left side casing, through there you can see the fly wheel on which are 2 dots - one for each TDC.
Yes, the wire near the oil window is to keep the battery overflow/breather from flapping about, not needed if you don't have a lead acid battery....
If all the dots line up then it can't be wrong. If the cam shaft dots were lined up on the wrong TDC, then the dot on the layshaft won't be lined...
Assuming same as 916? Set TPS voltage at fully closed to 150mv - but make sure the front TB is fully closed, I leave the connecting rod in place...
