Yes, your axle is not fitted correctly, you need to square it up, do this by loosening the axle pinch bolts then gently squeeze the front brake...
Have you a picture please?
Have you tried fitting the wheel first and then the calipers?

Are you sure that the new disc is a 330mm, compared to the older 320mm versions? If so then there is your problem
