    This is why I don't use a fancy lightweight battery on the 916 - it needs the Ooomph, both to start and keep it going, especially if it's not used...

    Pertpl pump keeps running with ignition off

    No voltage to the coil but the supply will be direct (via a fuse) from the battery, so if the contact sticks then the fuel pump would stay activated.
