Still using the one that came with my 748 back in 98 - works fine if one is careful.
From my old Haynes manual. I think that either way it is measured it ends up being the same, just Ducati changed the method for later models....

Pretty sure it's measured from the top of the bottom yoke - next time I'm in the garage I'll check my old 916 manual.

I hate to say but the ezy-out you have used is likely hardened steel so will be an absolute nightmare to drill out - ask me how I know!
