As Andy said, they are there for noise reduction. You must have one of the few bikes with them still in place :eek: bin them. It'll sound better...
It'll need a frame making up of sorts to provide the mounting points. Once you've got it, bond it and fibreglass in place. No easy way to get it...
Worth checking the guides as well. They have a habit of splitting the nose where it protrudes into the inlet/exhaust tracts when the valve hits....

Is the pushrod clearance adjusted properly? The cylinder return spring is what acts on the the lever to return it fully and push the switch......
The ti bolts can be used 3 times as mentioned above. The steel ones are throw away. Obviously, if you know this is the first time they've been off...
No stick. The updated software is downloaded onto the dealers DDS and uploaded to the bike via that. The software will load the correct maps...
