If you have enough room to access via the other end of the bar you shouldn’t damage it with a blunt rod. If not they are very cheap to replace...
Brute force. It’s a push in friction fit. You might be able to drift it out from the opposite end but if not and you don’t want to remove the clip...
On the v2 and v4 they have made fitting the fairings considerably easier. Still not simple but much better.
