Magneti Marrelli/ Weber IW724 injectors aren't the best , they spit fuel like a cabourettor,rather than spraying it.

I agree with above. Not much throttle response below 4000rpm. Could be bad fuel? Lowering gearing can help. I never rode an 853 conversion, so...

I had a recent problem on a 675 Triumph, it would not fire up. 15 year old bike, and crank position sensor was low ohm's. Needed to be 210 ohm....
Have a look at your spark plugs. Is there fresh fuel in the tank?
Try a good ol' tug.
