No it won't, as the DVT will have chugged away long before you find the right gear to accelerate on a non DVT.

Had both, and give me the DVT every time. Much nicer bike to ride especially in town and just as exciting as the TwinSpark to me on the open road....

My personal choice would be to wait for a DVT rather than the T/S, not ridden a cross tourer though.
