Tbh, Youtube is your friend here. Loads of choice, obscure things, recordings not commercialy available any more. Brilliant for new music fans and folks jaded by 'pop' culture as dictated by radio/tv. Take the tracks from peoples recommends..then click on the other links after listrning. The world is your oyster !
@J biker Couldn’t agree more. She’s pretty good at finding her own music, but has a thing about finding ‘older’ music. This thread has been great, she’s getting some great ideas from it. I do wonder if it’s easier or harder to find new music now. When I was younger it was pretty much the radio ( Caroline etc for me) I’ve never really liked mainstream pop music and don’t think there’s a radio station that plays much I like.
Lou Reed - Perfect Day Leonard Cohen - Hallelujah Nina Simone - Sinnerman This thread has ruined my productivity, I've fallen down so many internet wormholes I ain't getting anything done.
Very true, part of my thinking is not putting her off music I do t like though. For example I don’t like Beatles, Bowie, Nirvana or anything electronic ( Jean Michelle Jar etc )
