  5. For what its worth i've owned dozens of bikes over the last 35 years including Gsxr thou's ,Early R1 ,RSV4,various Ducati's etc. ...and my 1198S is up there with the best of them, its a very exciting bike to ride and a complete Animal when you want it to be, IMO wait for one to come along over the 1098 ,you wont be disappointed.:upyeah:

  6. I will. Sold my BMW 1000RR early this year, and I want to buy something else before the spring.

  7. Quite a soft old thing on standard suspension though.

  8. Not at zero miles

  9. Mine had done 1600 miles when I bought it. The front forks have too much travel, and the rake isn't ideal on the standard yokes. Mileage wont affect that.

  10. It hasn't got any mileage :eyes: so nothing will affect that

  11. Except internal corrosion.

  12. Extreeeeemly unlikely tbf :) and it ain't going nowhere until I've sold it anyhoo  and then it will probably not anyhoo…

  13. Has it got the original air in the tyres :).

  15. Hi I’m new to the forum to so I can’t comment on which is better 1098 or 1198 but to give you an idea of price I brought a 1198 base model last weekend with termigomonis cans and race air filter and race ecu plus all original parts and a little bit of carbon, it was also 1 owner it had 2800 miles on the clock f/s/h abolutely mint condition not even a stone chip and also had service and belts recently done I paid £6400 for it C91DB36A-28DD-46DB-9962-514DED81F838.jpeg

  16. Sounds like a cheap bike, where was it advertised?

  17. Facebook marketplace it was up for £6700 in fact I got it even cheaper then £6400 he took £6350 in the end as rear tyre could do with replacing I didn’t even test ride it as it looked like a new bike he was a decent bloke kept it locked up inside the RAF barracks where he worked I was well chuffed

  18. All I can say pauly is there are good deals out there just be patient something will turn up especially now winter is approaching

  19. Don't think so, all 4 of mine are no better if not slightly worse, and one is a 1500 mile Bayliss that hasn't had fuel in it for ages.
Never seen one with more clearance - not sure what they were like when new though.
