Personally? Think the black would look better if it finishes where it is now at the back, but starts at the very bottom of the V piece/front fairing. I know that isn how the original was but that has more fairing so carries it a little better imo
up to the race suit ! so, now the final design is a fact we have to consider what to put it on. As i don't intend to loose the original fairings/parts of the R , a solution had to be found for the tank. These are still pritty rare and it was decided to go for the Carbonvani original tank. View attachment 10859 View attachment 10860 an order was placed and i should know soon when it will arrive... to be decided : head fairing side fairings tail unit rear frame covers bellypan  grtz Koen
we're looking at doing the black parts of the logo's like that.. but i fear it will double the price of painting it...
Be sure to take set of normal bars to the track too, I have snapped carbon ones in a fall in the past.
if i should go down, i stronlgy doubt i'll be returning to the track that very day... perhaps after a 9 months prozac stint... but def not the same day! they are told to be stronger.. but CF does snap, that is true!
good news on the electronics front! got it from CORSE : a simple black box from Corse will fit into the standard R loom and adapt the activation of the TC to the stickiness pirelli slicks.. the outer measures of the slicks on the 16,5 rim are just a couple of MM different and so the only thing to calculate is the stickiness of the type 1 or type 2 compound.. this should be a bill of hundreds instead of the expected thousands (Nemisis later this year - ) or mental 14K Marelli system.... ( ) ps : there is a similar box for the Michelin tires... The order has been given for a front, sides, seat and bellypan carbon race suit... should have it end of this month. The fueltank is due end of march and many brake parts are in the mail. te rapidbike race is on its way as well..
LOL!! alstare = Belgian  The heads on the 999 woere flowed by one of their techie's.. and now they're working in our beloved bikes...
Make sure you never drop off just before WSBK weekend then pmsl Would love to see this thing on the flesh when you've finished
This is an awesome project. I can't wait to see how it develops and what you end up with. The retro paint job is just brilliant. Fantastic stuff! Keep it coming! Andy
