1199 1199s Buying A ‘cat In A Bag’

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Nathanhu, Jul 4, 2018.

  1. So the story continues.. no such thing as a free lunch as they say, the front Header has rubbed the radiator and there is now a small hole..
and dropping the oil I was overjoyed to find coolant pump teeth in the strainer.. :)

  2. Teeth ! ( or not teeth... a common issue with the 1199 I found out is these pieces can come loose from the generator, and find their way into the sump)

  3. Seriously Nathan?! There have been countless threads about these, they are not waterpump gears and are found in nearly all strainers on the 1199.

  9. So changed the picture... thankfully I hear..!

using the Motoholder rear subframe, has anyone fitted the oem rear seat unit as well? I was just looking at how much needs to be removed to enable the lock mech to work or spacers
    Cheers

  10. So i thought i would make a small update as a year has passed.
I have been running the SSTK Reparto Corse system on the bike and have been quite happy with the power delivery and last year had a quick dyno run with 170 rear wheel HP, but I was a little disappointed with the numbers ( not the torque / power curve) and as I have been struggling with Noise issues on the European circuits, I have been in discussion with Phil Smith from Storm Performance to run a set of extended cans on the under-seat D170 Termi system i have.
so I thought I would do a check run on my local Dyno, and with the RB Evo disconnected I was really surprised to see the results-

  11. 16 hp increase with the termi D170 system just mapping to do later in the year I think

  12. That’s a huge gain!

Can you explain the reason for disconnecting the Rapidbike? Do you think it was causing issues or was it just because it hadn’t had time to adjust to the new exhaust yet?

  13. Sure, the mapping on the RB was still as per the other exhaust. So I just used the disconnect plug to run the bike without any extra intervention ( the RB mapping was way off due to the amount of corrections I had applied)

  14. Would be really interested to see the difference in a dyno run with the RB connected after it’s been reset and had time to learn the new exhaust.

I have an RB Evo on my 959 and I have always wondered how much of a difference it makes.

  15. I also have an RB Evo on my 1299, I did a trial run with and without the RB intervention and there was a 12 hp increase and improved low end running

  16. as there is still growing issues with noise limits on track etc, i have a set of longer cans to hopefully get under the 98dB drive by limits that have been creeping in over on the EU mainland..
Another great bit of work by Phil from SPF
