Careful, here. Twenty feet of string has been measured and found to contain twice as many neurons as the brightest Manchester United supporter.
Well, not unless the bloke has a white stick, or is being a real nuisance... Tasered blind man: PC Stuart Wright ordered to apologise - BBC News Passenger Tasered on Easyjet plane at Gatwick - BBC News
Re the original topic re speeder I find it disturbing to think you would get two years for speeding, forget whatever the guy had done previous ( unless it was speeding , car theft , wreckless driving etc ) I don't think two years is fair. I know people will argue he may have killed someone , he didn't. There are people who have killed on the road serve less time . Has no one ever found a quiet spot to top out their bike ( of course I haven't nor have I ever broken any speed limit) we are all as bikers aware how easy it would be to be caught at stupid speeds, keep in mind anyone videos themselves on the bike/car . Speeding is the new drink driving.
Were the cars even capable of the speeds mentioned ? What's to stop someone using your phone and car to fit you up ? In fact that's a good idea I know someone I would love to do it on , the Bastid .
The guy looks like a right chopper. I would plough his daughter though. She looks like a right slosher.
2 years does sound a little excessive. If you did it once on an empty motorway, you probably wouldn't get a custodial sentence. But if you did it repeatedly on A roads or other such places, then maybe they would throw the book at you. And they did. Mind you, 2 years is only about 1 year of real prison. No one ever does their sentences (ask Oscar Pistorius).
The two things are very different. Pistorius killed someone and served a good portion of his sentence. The guy doing 190mph in his car - I'm mean come on. He could have KILLED someone! He should be executed. Without hope of parole.
Yes, I was impressed. Unless I am simply out of date, perhaps there is a need for a submission to the Viz "Roger's Profanisaurus"?
But note indeterminate sentences for public protection (IPPs) as used from 2005 to 2012. Imprisonment for public protection - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Some of those guys are in prison for much longer than their original sentence, and don't know when if ever they will get out.
We'll never know of course, but I bet his sentence has as much to do with the man himself as his offence. Sounds like the police and the judiciary have been trying to get him banged up for years for his other activities.
Well yes, that was the idea. It turned out that the IPP sentencing was used for far more convicts than had been anticipated, and parole boards were far more reluctant to let them out than expected. As a result the prison population rapidly increased, which began to cost £billions. So the IPP was abolished. There is still a residual population from the 2005-2012 era, left in an anomalous position. If some of them are innocent, they are in a classic "prisoner's dilemma".
I live one village before earlsbarton on the A45. And have seen and heard the speeding and idiotic driving at all hours of the day and night bearing in mind it's a rural area with plenty of wild life (muntjacs and badgers a plenty) not that I'm worried about poor Tommy Brock but I dread to think what would happen if you hit a deer at 190? I know the police are aware that it's a favourite place to v max cars and bikes. But how often do you see the old bill patrolling? I've seen one camera van on a bridge once when it was rush hour. I'm glad they threw the book at him. Also a 10 year driving ban.
I think the fact he let his daughter drive at 192mph said enough about the man himself. Case closed your a reckless twat who shouldn't be allowed to drive along side us normal folk.
