if as a track day rider you are using less revs for less of the time, which pretty much all of us are, the major service interval time go way up. Now that isn't to say changing oil and filter every 3 or so days on track is well advised but the scaremongering without evidence is simply wrong.

this is also good reason for going for a 1100 v4 rather than the higher revving 1000, easier power for the less talented!

I would also argue mincing about on these bikes to box hill and back with both the fans on full constantly trying to cool a overheating bike down after a short journey does more damage than it running at the correct temperature at high speed.

That cheaty extra 103cc (longer stroke) that the S gets over the R, takes a lot of engine stress away. And of course makes the engines night and day from one another in character.
