Is there a 3-phase alt from another bike that can be retrofitted onto a 900SS (1996). I already have a 3-phase rectifier installed. Yeah, longshot it is. Thanks, John

Does anyone know which 900SS model years have a 3-phase alt? Modification of a single phase is way too much work.
John, I have a carb and also an ie 900 SS. As far as I know, all the carbs had 2 phase and all the injections had 3 phase. Its easy to identify the three phase by the alternator cover, it sticks out a fair bit more. If you want to put a 3 phase into a carby, you would unfortunately need to change the crank, as its very different at that end. If you are willing to do that, and use all the associated alternator/flywheel/cover bits then you could do it.
