520 chain thoughts

  1. I have not found that to be true easily last just as long as steel.......unless you forget to refill your scott oiler then they really go out quick :eek: as I found out last year.

    I get two steel front sprockets wear out before one Renthal alli one on the back looks even slightly hooked and by then its time for a new chain
     
  2. Are your Renthal rear's not hard anodised and not just alli?
     
  3. yes they are the hard anodised ones
    The hard anodising only goes a few thou deep and once thats worn through they go off fairly quickly

  4. I would strongly recommend AFAM hard anodized. On my 748 using only dry spray chain lube every 3-400miles, they have lasted much longer than the steel OEM ones and at 8k miles the only wear is slight polishing on the side of the sprocket teeth! FWIW Foggy used em on his race bikes
     
  5. Had renthal rear sprockets for years and they wear really well if looked after.
