We decided to do the North West 200 on 2 wheels this year as my other half now has her own license and bike. Bedford > Cairnryan > North Coast of NI. Covered 970 miles total, with about 420 miles each way on the actual journey. Was expecting loads of drama, breakdowns and bits falling off but bike behaved very well. Only real negatives were: Clutch gets a bit grumpy filtering slowly for a long time along the Port Rush sea front, Gets a bit grabby and cant find neutral. Think i need to replenish and bleed fluid as a minimum. But it is a dry clutch and not really built for that anyway. Sidestand has started to lean more than is sensible with my big Ventura tailpack on it (with a lock and chain for extra weight!). Going to have a look at adding a steel stop to the leg as i suspect it is digging in to the aluminium. Tailpack melted on exhaust after i failed to do one of the zips up properly, the bottom of the pack melted and dumped my tools on the A75 west of Creetown. Anyone want a beta 1/4 socket set, there is one somewhere along there. Wrist ache only got bad on the last 150 miles of the return trip. This was mostly because we had to slow right down for my other half's benefit and the wind blast that takes your weight off your wrists disappears.
