Can original owners confirm what type of fasteners were used on delivery of the bike. My 999R has two screw fixings either end [top left and bottom left] with two screws underneath into expanding rubber fixings. The rest are dzus fasteners. The two screw fixings either side holding the fairing may have been different only on the 749R as they were possibly dzus fasteners. Can anybody confirm what they were like originally in 04 as delivered. Many Thanks Phil
the ones underneath should be dzus screws, but i like most changed them for screws, as they have the habit of coming undone and you will then destroy your fairings as they flip up past your knees....
According to the parts fiche the 2004 749R should have wellnuts in the bottom. Side fairings have D ring Dzus along the frame, others are Allen head Dzus. https://shop.oemducati.com/en/products/superbike/2004-2/749-r/fairing-33

My 04 749R has allen head dzus holding the two sides together underneath. I always apply tape over them to avoid the wing potential.
