848 Starting Problems

  2. I have a diagram for the 848 but the wire colours are unreadable. This one from a 1098 is the same and legible.
    When the starter button is pressed Body (grey) connector pin 28 (white/blue) should get a ground from the starter switch.
    For the starter solenoid to operate, the ECU requires Engine (black) connector pin 14 (black) to be grounded by the neutral switch.
    If not then Body connector pin 33 (blue) must be grounded by the clutch switch AND Body connector pin 38 (white/red) must be grounded by the side stand switch.

  3. Hi all,

    Just in case anyone was wondering after weeks of tinkering I found the fault!!!

    It turns out a mouse chewed my kill switch harness.

    So I have invested in a lion to guard my bike at night
