  3. Thanks for the headsup RickyX, I saw that one and I'm still questioning myself about it.. I find it's not so easy to assess "fair value" for such bike to be honest and what would be the impact in the future if one would have to resell.

Btw about the lost plaque point, I would agree with the ones saying it's better not to put any back, it will never be the original one anymore and would raise more questions IMHO; hard to "restore" that kind of detail unfortunately..

  4. Get it bought matey. Plenty of budget left to make it A1 :upyeah:

  5. I'm honestly not sure the maths add up bradders; to openly share my thoughts with the forum and discuss in transparent way (and hopefully help the seller as well) here's how I see it when I try to assess that bike (again I'm no pro expert on those so any feedback is welcome):

If we list what it would need to make it in original / perfect riding condition after the buy as is, very roughly:
    - 3 spoke Golden Brembo wheel set: seems almost impossible to find in good original condition those days; 1000€+ ??
    - full fairing repaint: 1000€ ?
    - regular full preventive maintenance (all fluids, filters, belts, valve adjustment, dampers...): close to 1000€ if no big surprises?
    - various small parts (windshield, carbon exhaust guard, what else?..): few 100s€ ?
    ...
Over 3k€, without even talking about any engine/mechanical/electrical major potential work / repair needed (the bike hasn't really been ridden for years as I understand it and is not a 0 miles example, so there's always a risk it needs more to be right).

=> ends up at min 13k€ (+import cost for me in my situation being in France), for a bike with no numbered plaque.
Sounds like significant money to me for a bike that will never be so easy to sell if needed one day unfortunately.. (and I think that bike has been for sale on & off for several years on the internet?)

    Please discuss :)

  6. Can’t imagine a grand forbthe wheel or a grand for some paint. Well, not U.K. anyway.

Top condition one in U.K. will probs be around 12-14k (if we deflate the overpriced wishing brigade).

  7. I'm also sure that the vendor had some very positive phone calls/viewers and that they placed a very cheeky low ball offer and this was just not acceptable:thinkingface:

  8. Anyway...GLWS :upyeah:

  9. I turned down £16k for mine last year

  10. T500,,Have i seen your pictures yet:thinkingface:

  11. I have only posted pictures of my Panther Multistrada and Suzuki TC200

  12. That explains why then:upyeah:

  13. The 916 is being valated at the moment before i put it into storage I will try and get some pictures

  14. I'm not sure I would agree with some of these numbers or statements.

Firstly as I have said to a number of potential buyers, they can have the 3 spokes off my 748 but they will require painting, say £200.00
I had a quote for a full respray at £600.00
The bike is fully maintained and has been done so meticulously, if you wanted another oil change and belts from my local specialist its £330.00
    Incidentals £xxx
New plaque if you wanted one £200.00

So, £8600 for the bike plus £1330 plus any extras you chose to do would stand you in at £9930.00 for a restored and back to original SPS.

I'd say that was the deal of the year.

I've had the bike for 10 years and put it up last year but removed it as my mother was in hospital so it' wasn't a priority, it's been on the market for the last 2 months or so.
I bought it from Snell and prior to that it was owned by the last keeper for 5 years.

  19. I thought about having it made from silver, to make the whole debacle a little more special :)

  20. Like the idea... but i would have it made as the original metal specification:upyeah:
