hi Chris yes tested the aps and there was a resistance reading on the multi meter , I have a u shapped tube on mine so no water goes "down " the pipe and yes I have 2 stickers on my ecu but not in good shape . I have looked in the ecu and there us no signs of damp ...i might fill I with rice ... cheers for the info ...again
lol yer thanks but reading one of Chris reply's on another post I might just crack it open and clean it up
yer good idea , there is a spark , on both and will try a compression check if the ecu is ok ....fingers crossed that it I bust cos then I have found a faulty part
cheers Steve, it did run when I started it around 6 hrs later .and ran for around 5 mins and then smoked and now no start
cheers for the support, I have been going through all the connectors and earthing bolts , cleaning and lubing them up . I will get the acu checked on another running bike and then go from there . Thanks again for information and ideas .
soo the ecu and relays are all good , great !! thanks duke 63 I will be stripping the kill switch. and what about water in the petrol? That would give was white smoke and then stop . I am gonna change the fuel and fuel filter ...and buy shares in ezistart and c.r if you don't want to wash it I will ??
sooo every single electrical connection is checked and double chewcked, the ecu tested on a working bike , new fuel filter and new fuel still no start... shooo start again check plugs and oh no spark !!! found some plugs lying around and it fires up but wow NOW LOADS IF GREY SMOKE I have been smoking out the neighbours for around 5 mins
At a guess rings and/or guides would be my best guess, but then I guess you know that! At worst perhaps a holed piston if it's billowing everywhere. Have you opened the old fuel filter to see if there is any shit in there, is one of the injectors blocked? Both pipes hot? Might clear if the pipes are full of unburnt fuel, at best, hopefully. Doesn't sound good tho chap, sorry. Top off job probably.
the smoke is clearing , I think it is a mix of unburnt fuel and exhaust soot in the pipes ?? shoo after all that I am hoping it was dodge spark plugs and water In the fuel THANKYOU FOR ALL YOUR IMPUT AND THOUGHTS
