996 Oil Change

  1. I'm living in the dream world that if I bought a fairly new Jap IL4 the depreciation + servicing would probably be more than my non-depreciating 996 and servicing.
     
  2. Are you having the valves done soon?Clearances that is.
     
  3. Current plan is new belts, valve clearances, rockers checking at 12k. I expect that will be about the end of this year or beginning of next. Belts are 2 year old in September. I don't do lots of miles and have 2 bikes.
     
  4. I reckon you'll be fine then. Ride the bastard and don't get drawn in by the doom merchants!

  5. I was well pleaded she started first go after not being run for 2 months without the need for the fast idle. I deliberately waited for a warmer day than we have been having. Been on a Optimate since Boxing Day. Forget how awesome she sounds.
     
  6. @Cream_Revenge When I first got my 998 the first thing I did was change the oil and check the oil strainer, it had similar flakes on it and what look liked gasket seal gunk.

    But when I got the belts changed and valves checked at the dealers they said all was good inside... It could well have not been out before since it left the factory!!!
