  1. OK, you've goosed the 'Body' connector

    White/green - G/W - Pin 11 (Fan)
    White/grey - *
    Green/grey - G/Gr - Pin 14 (Fan)
    Brown - B - Pin 4 (+12v)
    White - W - Pin 16 (KLine)
    Brown/white - B/W - Pin 6 (Fuel Pump relay)
    Black/red - R/Bk - Pin 38 (Side stand)
    Orange/blue - O/B - Pin 17 (Main Relay +12v)
    Green/red - *

All the colours tie up except for the ones *

    Grey/White - Gr/W and Red/Green - R/G are either Pin 9 (Tacho) or Pin 27 (+12v)

You should be able to use a meter to do continuity checks from the wire ends to each of those components.

It may be easier to use new wires into the ECU connector and solder the old wires onto them.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  2. Chris,

That's a massive help many thanks.

So the 2 * are either or? So I just need to figure out which ones the taco and and +12 wire the put in the relevant slot.

Yeah that maybe a good idea...they don't seem to like going back in very easily tbh.

  3. Would it help me at all if I said the green/red is acually green/orange?

    Tom

  4. Is the 998S diagram not the same then?...

It's not super clear but the wire colours are legible on the diagram on P.264 (P.265 for the 'key').

  5. Oh crap...

I really don't understand them drawings, electrics not my thing...give me a plant room schematic any day!

Will the ecu be in danger if it get it mixed up?

  6. Polarity inversion will damage the ECU.

You need to identify the +12v input wires going to Pin 4, Pin 17 and Pin 27. The other wires are, in the main, earth triggers to components eg fuel pump relay, side stand. Pin 16 is for the diagnostic port. You only have 9 wires to trace. Just follow the lines from the ECU using the arrow keys on your keyboard to see where they terminate. (print off the component list out of the handbook)

  7. Tommy you should have just asked lol
I can take a pic of my wiring and draw where each goes if needed??

  8. Never mind mate, cheers anyway.

Sold the engine and loom now so fingers crossed it's ok.

  9. Mate, can you still do this for me please?...the chap who brought the loom is having problems.

  10. Of course. I'll do it in the morning ok
I'll take pics of the plugs and draw a diagram out too ok

  11. Brill , I'd appreciate that thanks mate.
