Forgot to report back on latest work! so this last week I have: Replaced the fuel filter Replaced in tank fuel and drain hoses Fitted stainless fuel quick release fittings just looking for a valve inspection cover as so far not been able to find one the right size! And then my work is pretty much done, it’s over to mototechnica for oil, belts, balancing and fork rebuild.
And that’s a wrap! So finished off with replacing the lower valve inspection cover as one lug was broke on mine and it drove me mad. Had to nick a couple of dzus from my 748 as I’m waiting the ones from this bike to come back from the platers. but now it will head over to mototechnica for desmo. there is a scratch on my frame that I need to touch up though, anyone got any recommendation for touch up paint for this grey?
Looks amazing, just need to get off my arse and get mine done. Also you say you are waiting for some DZUS rings to be plated. Is that from Louigi moto or a plating company ?

Good job Messer. A lot of detail work done here. I have been comparing your pictures with the 998R project that I am doing on a separate thread (and on which you are helping) and its amazing how many small changes there are between the two bikes.
I’ll keep my eye on your thread Ben, good to know those parts were useful! just sent my bike off for valve service so took some more pics of it’s first time out of the garage since becoming a nice bike again and just because the world doesn’t have enough pics of these immortalised!
That’s a Volvo, but yes I see the resemblance right place at the right time kind of thing, I was loosing money on my daily car hand over fist in depreciation and this came up for such a rediculous price I took it for my daily. It’s not bad,2020 s60 t5r design. Not the quickest, 250hp and sounds like an asthmatic track star when pushed but for its purpose it’s great. the lotus on the other hand. Fck me how that thing is even legal I don’t know!

I scuffed the surface with scotchbrite pads to help make a key, then used etch primer, then used some satin black I had laying around in the garage.
Back from mototechnica this morning with full clean bill of health The oil in the forks was like new and valve clearances all perfect, alternator was to correct torque. It’s had new fork oil, tbs synced and balanced, valve clearances done, coolant, oil and filter, belts. I did the rest, sparks, brake fluids, clutch fluid and air filters. engine sounds perfect nothing untoward etc brill! Thanks @Moto Technica
