  1. Not optimal, but should suffice.

  2. How long was the bike stood - fresh petrol would help.

  4. Started! Yuasa rock. Took a few goes still.

Bought new fuel filter from OYB Aylesbury today with a couple of crush washers for oil. Will get new sparkers and air filter fitted and put fresh fuel in.

    Thanks as always guys.

Bike is bloody loud. Not just the clutch.

  5. Oh, and some proper cables!

  6. Fit the ExactStart cables properly and put some fresh petrol in and it will start beautifully. Don't touch the throttle, so the ECU can sort out optimum mixture for starting.

Your sprag will thank you :)

  7. There his 996 ones ;)

  8. Oh, CR - have you noticed the 999 has a self start - press the start button once and leave it, don't leave it pressed in :)

  9. handy that [emoji6] . Ridiculous place for a battery. Had a nightmare trying to get the bolts in, the nuts kept falling. Couldn't find any small plastic tubing so rolled some insulation tape into a tube and used that to hold them in place.

  10. Really?

  11. Yes :)

  12. I see.
    Hence the jury rig...

  13. You live and learn.

  14. Pull the cables out a little and the battery - then fasten them and slide it back in. You will deffo have to do this to fit the upgrade cable kit - see the link, I have just dropped the 999 instructions here...

  15. Yes. it's really fiddly on the 999.
Doesn't help having a PC3 to fit in there as well... :/

  16. I fit them to the other side . Right . Much more room.

  17. There was much swearing.

Working on the 999 after the 996, it seems like they did stuff just to make it different. Taking the rear seat unit off is a right pain compared to the 996. And the fairing and front nose

Maybe I'll get used to her but she reminds me as much of the GSXR as the 996.

  18. Wash your mouth out...! :eek:penmouth:

  19. Not with the engine running, but with spanner in hand.

She seems like a road bike where the 996 seems like a race bike.

She feels bigger, bulkier, more solid and cumbersome. Still early days though.

  20. But overall...................TFFT

I just took mine of after a four hour charge..........13.88 V.............dropped within minutes to 13.3.......

.......but that means..................I'm out on it on Sunday...........
