The only thing that needs to be supported are the valves . If you stop them from falling into the cylinder then you can do them with the heads on . There are various tools on the market to help with this but as a fail safe I fill the cylinder with cord and, gently, turn the engine till the piston holds them up.6mm Valve Holder Tool | EMSDUC
The engine was uprated. It got bigger valves and a higher compression . That's why it has more power . The may well have changed the way it was measured but that's not what I was referring to.
So what are you saying . I'm saying it had more power due to the bigger valves and higher compression . Dosent matter where you measure it back wheel or crank it's an uprated engine however you look at it. Therefore nothing to do with how it was measured.
Not sure what you mean? If the power was measured in different places across the two models, which appears to be the case, then your statement was incorrect. Some of the power increase wasn't actually an increase if this is the case, you stated otherwise and still do?
I enjoy "obtuse" as much as the next guy but Elise, will you please ease up on appearing dimwitted? The number of conversations that are being posted about "what he said" as opposed "what he clearly, obviously and plainly meant" is giving me a distinct pain in the temporal lobe. And yes, Elise, my requirements trump your "right to free speech" and yes, I am the boss of you. Now carry on but with a reduced level of thick please, umkay-thanks-buh-bye!
Dimwit - I am only questioning a likely factual error, which he then tries to defend instead of discussing and reasoning. You are clearly looking for a reaction, I know not why? I await his reasoned answer, not your drivel
@Loz, did I think you need to re read this thread, realise what the discussion is about and try, as your statement was clearly wrong if the power was measured in different places on subsequent models. Loz is trying to have a bit of banter, you I'm unsure of your motive unless you genuinely just don't understand.
Ducati2242 was absolutely correct in what he said: Elise , you are correct when you say that you are "unsure" but absolutely everything else you've said is wildly inaccurate and entirely untrue. I suggest you go back over every single thread here and come back when I have given up reading the forums.
Stop being thick, if not thick and you're only being antagonistic then carry on, that's fine. Thick, not good, antagonistic, good. If thick re read slower next time and perhaps get speed_triple to help with the English. Second thought's don't, he's pretty shit at it of late :Hilarious:
Message received! Can you re-send, but this time in idiomatic English, rather than idiotic English? Thanks!
In a forum such as this one, the best you can realistically hope for is that the OP gets an answer to his question before the BS starts flying and pollutes the thread. Generally speaking, I think this happens more often than not on the Ducati Forum and I am personally quite satisfied with this kind of outcome. Others may have a different opinion, which they are certainly entitled to (keep quiet about).
Looks like a nice 999R. You should buy it if the price is good. The custom bike in the background looks interesting...
