999 999r Incoming!

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by JoeC, Mar 7, 2019.

  1. Less rear set adjustment on the R - no front to back adjustment, just up and down... so less threaded holes and smaller brackets...

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  2. Please explain. I've paid a deposit and would be keen for the info before I drive down on Saturday.

  3. Looks nice from a colour scheme perspective but I would say 1098S Ohlins plus shit 848 brakes are definitely a downgrade compared to the “proper” forks and brakes.
Coupled with the wheels and frame...all mouth and no trousers I’m afraid.

  5. Yes, I am a good customer of theirs!

  6. Have you got a link to the original advert?

Engine number will start with 999 if an R motor. All other 999 engines start 998

  7. See above!

  8. It has got the mag cam covers though.

  9. It's not got the bigger outlets that the race cans have. That's a pissy std one.

  11. What colour buttons are on the dash?
What's the red bit on the lh side of the airbox?

  12. What does the engine number read on the docs?

Why rebuild the engine after 600 miles?

  13. It's had a lot of mods for 600 miles - only the Cam Covers left

  14. Caveat emptor as us Sarf Landoners say.

  15. I don't know, I haven't seen it so far. I have just been out to look at my S and there are five different positions for the lower footpeg mount. My R has only two. I guess that will be the deciding factor on Saturday. Thanks for the heads up!

    Grey and black
