I had this message from a computer expert friend this morning : “Meta has announced plans to analyze private messages, photos, and voice notes on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp to improve its AI models, starting December 16, 2025, in most regions. This data collection will be used to personalize content and advertising, and users will not have an option to opt out unless they stop using the platforms.”
That is interesting. They probably need as much raw data as they can get, from where ever they can get it from. There is an interesting phenomenon with AI - its called model collapse. The idea is that AI responses can be relied on more so when they are based on raw human produced data. But once AI generated data is used in the AI model, the output from AI models becomes more unreliable - until it collapses. Something like that anyway.
Current problem with AI is it just learns from what is already out on the internet. Bearing in mind much of it is based on lies and made up shite, then all AI is doing is learning from lies and AI shite. And the regurgitating it.
Tell me about it. It’s the mother of all Freudian slips. And yes, I do have an iPhone. Edit: come to think of it, dragging my mother into this discussion is probably also quite Freudian. Edit 2: as is mentioning the word “come”.
