Annoying Pop Up Ad

Discussion in 'Forum How To's - create an Avatar/Event/Group etc?' started by Towser, Mar 22, 2019.

  1. Has the forum been spammed? Whenever I log on using and iPad , and I've tried 2, I get a pop up telling me I've won a prize and I need to rate my ISP. Its obviously spam but I cant get rid of it. All is fine on the PC

  2. I routinely get a pop up that states I’ve won a Google user prize, usually an iPhone, so I think it is iPad specific. I just open a new window and exit the window with the pop up in it. Pain in the proverbial I know. Andy

  3. Yeah sounds like the same thing I'm getting! Unfortunately it just pops up in the new window as well. It must be Apple specific as it does it on my iPhone as well. I never used to get this so wondered if something had changed. Makes the forum unusable on an Apple device.

  4. Had it on iPhone.

Closed safari and then cleared everything via settings-safari.

    Seems ok once logged in.

  5. Become a subscriber and get rid of the ads. And thread moved

  6. I use an iPhone with no issue, but I pay £5 per year to go advert free and support the forum, well £15 actually to get the Halfords Trade Card and save myself money too

  7. Adverts are how many websites survive, though some offer the option of a small financial operations running cost. So that they can off-set the annoyance of the advert delivery platform service with a substituted 'non delivery system' of paid zero adverts mechanism.

I personally choice the £15 service on here & have supported many anti-advert software companies in the past. Though my moral fortitude towards charities has come to an end with the likes of fake-gofund me schemes & its ilk. Mostly created by vacuous americans wishing to con people out of their empathy.

Here in the uk; gypsy communities create church organizations & then donate the majority of their income(to below the tax paying threshold). Which is then divvied out to 'good causes' tax free who by chance happen to be those same communities. All of them then happen to take advantage of brandnew cars every couple of years & the warranty work required is covered by the insurance industry. Who is backed by the tax paying populous. Now it might be worth noting for anyone seeing the red-mist. All of these & many other tax (legal) avoidance mechanisms were introduced to them by the elite.

  8. I am a subscriber and it makes not one jot of a difference Terry. I don't think it is anything to do with the forum, as I get it most visiting internet newspaper pages (not a euphemism for anything else) . Andy

  9. Thats not the issue. The issue is the forum has some kind of XXS malware in it. It happens on mine on safari iPad, but not safari laptop (at the moment - it was last week).

Its not a local cache issue either, thats been cleared several times on mine, and still does it.

It has nothing to do with ads: its a malware virus

I have noticed it also happens on Rennlist, which I think is the same platform software. Suspect flashplayer or similar has a bug/malware

  11. It bricked my iPhone at lunchtime. The issue happens as you log on. Therefore subscription is not going to solve it.

Fortunately I got my phone working ok again, but I wiped it.

  12. If you have iapd or mac, you can close any tabs on the iphone (or visa versa) from that. Its saved me a couple of times for wankers on here who have put up links that stop your stuff operating once you click on it (some people's idea of funny deserves a smash in the face!)

  13. If i thought that would solve it I'd gladly subscribe. I may anyway but others suggest it wont solve this issue.

  14. I don’t get pop ups on my iPhone or iPad. Try it.

  15. If more than 1 person is reporting an issue, then maybe just maybe; there might be? You may get none because you wipe your porn history more effectively. Who knows? But I think something may be afoot. The world is littered with early warnings being ignored. It may signal the end of the world or it may be nothing. But if it is something, and you did nothing I shall endeavour to whine and moan until you decide to put me on ignore. If you haven't already that is. In which case, "up yours". If you haven't then please ignore previous sentence.

  16. Having awful issues this past week

    Getting worse

  17. Glad it’s not just me.

  18. A new one today, the original issues last week was a divert to my ISP provider for a survey, but it wasn't my ISP provider. Today, I had this, similar http address but different message.
