Parts are expensive and rare 2nd hand. I have boxes full of spares for the 1098R that I have just bought as I've seen them as they can be found reasonably, at least they could a couple of years back. I have almost nothing for the Desmo as they hardly come up at reasonable money. For me. Buy the best one you can, even if it means stretching yourself. A one rough around the edges could become expensive. Don't be afraid of a cheeky offer. These things don't exactly sell like hot cakes. It's a small market. Good luck if you take the plunge, they are a special bike. Oh, get an insurance quote too.
I keep forgetting stuff.............The bike came with a stupid 16" rear wheel, which only Bridgestone made a tyre for and you can no longer buy. I changed mine to BST carbon wheels with a 17" on the rear. A 999R rear wheel fits and is 17" if you want to remain stock.
