Simply repeating rubbish doesn't make it correct but it does open your brand of rubbish up to wider views and then there's the danger that other like-minded imbeciles then get on the same outrage bus and if "everyone is saying it then it must be true" Nest thing you know you've got UKIP in parliament.
I didn't realise those were the only two options. Thanks for sorting that out for us all, it's all so much clearer now.
Yes. Being aware and sorting them out or ignoring serious problems are usually the only way. Can you suggest another way?
I don't know for sure but I suspect it's a bit more complicated than that and would take more than a couple of lines on an Internet message board to outline a credible anti terrorist policy.
Please tell me why it's rubbish to disseminate information in the hope that people will come to a similar conclusion as oneself. I haven't made it up - unlike the religious zealots you defend.
Of course it would, along with the huge resources the state has available to it. I hope we can rely on our government.
I propose the 'Judge Dredd' option. All forum members ride around heavily armed on Diavel's, wearing black gimp suits (sorry leathers) dispensing on site justice to the public at large.
I don't recall anybody here "defending religious zealots". I'm certainly not. Religion is mankind's biggest single mistake in my view. You are simply not listening to anyone else's point of view and instead reacting to the arguments as you perceive them to be in your own head. I'm not sure that's going to change anything, based on current evidence...!
I have debated with Muslims at great length, notably - but not solely - those of my son's schoolfriends who tried to convert him and whom I ended up throwing out of my house after they spewed vile, anti-semetic remarks. And I have come to the same conclusion as Churchill, which I will post after I've finished this one. I no longer feel the need to engage with them - unless they initiate a debate with the words: "We now see all those of other faiths, or no faith at all, as equal to Muslims." And if they did that they would no longer beMuslims because that would go against the teachings of the Koran. All religions are flawed, Islam fatally so, and it is required, therefore, to justify its right to be accepted by civilised pluralist democracies.
thought you where heading out on the bike, if mine still has a charge in the battery in an hour i am.
Sir Winston Churchill; (Source: The River War, first edition, Vol II, pages 248-250 London). How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries, improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement, the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Muslims may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome." Had to grab a coffee when I stopped for petrol. I want to have babies with my Optimate - best maintenance tool ever invented!
1899 - and Female householders over 30 got the vote in 1918: all women over 21 were emancipated ten years later. Men had to be 21 to vote too then. I hope you're not going to compare our treatment of women with that of Islam! Right. Sun is shining. Next coffee 4pm.
In his long life, Churchill wrote a vast number of articles, books and speeches on a huge range of subjects. On many topics his views were extreme, and many of those views changed greatly over time. You could find a quote somewhere in Churchill's writings to support virtually any point including some appalling ones. This quote is a really good one, as it happens, but relying on Churchill as an authority is a risky road to go down.
