Another Wake-up Call

  1. So you're just going to gloss over the fact that you accused others of "defending religious zealots" - when they did no such thing - by hiding behind The Great Man are you...?

Well done. You've won me over... :Meh:

  2. Perhaps not as risky as not going down it, not aimed personally at you but:

My Muslim friend, a native of Morocco who lived in Canada for 10 years with Canadian citizenship was clearly a 'Muslim light kind of girl' wearing western clothes as an example. Her view, due to her religious beliefs was that the Paris atrocity was their own fault - she had very much a they brought it on themselves attitude (her brother is living in Paris and is also very much a 'Muslim light' too). When I mentioned the fact that Muslim teachings and art had shown the image of Mohamed and it was a recent radical excuse to say images insult Islam she replied with: it's all lies that this is the case and the internet is lies. Funnily enough the same view she has regarding the existence of dinosaurs ever having roamed the earth.
These people are brain washed and part of the most dangerous cult this world has ever seen, I know this is my view due to her mixed Western culture - she still sides for Mohamed's 'radical Muslim followers' views, even though she is very much a modern Muslim. From what I have seen on the Big Question and other programmes where they express their view, this is the norm in 'Muslim light' views. It is dangerous to ignore and to let them take over our councils which will happen soon in some Cities.
You can be a Chamberlin or a Churchill, your choice: but seek some direct knowledge on the subject before forming an opinion is my advice...

  4. There is a huge difference between disagreeing with you and supporting ISIS. Are you Jon Gaunt?

  5. I care to disagree with Churchill on any number of issues, we could start with using Poison Gas against the Kurds, his formation of the Black and Tans and their subsequent trail of destruction through Ireland, support for the needless bombing of Dresden and his opposition to Indian independence for starters.

  6. Does anyone know if there is a filter to stop this sort of shite from appearing on my feed? I like a bit of banter and a laugh, I like a good debate, I love the technical threads and pictures of great looking bikes. The projects on here are some of the best I have seen on a forum.
I dislike being told I'm complacent because an extremist with an agenda is telling me that an entire religion is evil and will kill me. In fact dislike is far to mild a term, I loathe and detest it.

2 women die from domestic abuse in the uk every week, that is a shocking and utterly unacceptable statistic which we should all be outraged about but no, instead we get shite threads like this...

  7. Nope :(
I don't have an agenda, just an opinion through personal experience and research - rightly or wrongly, it is my opinion and yours is your own. Unless you meant someone else :D Just thought it was worth sharing considering the title of the debate :)
In this instance I would actually like to be wrong...

  8. Fair points. But do you also disagree with him about the danger to freedom posed by Islam? That's the issue under discussion.

  9. “There's a hole in the world like a great black pit
and the vermin of the world inhabit it
and its morals aren't worth what a pig could spit
and it goes by the name of London.
At the top of the hole sit the privileged few
Making mock of the vermin in the lonely zoo
turning beauty to filth and greed...
I too have sailed the world and seen its wonders,
for the cruelty of men is as wonderous as Peru
but there's no place like London!”

  10. Sorry for the late reply. Amazingly I also find time to ride my bike and was enjoying a rare sunny day out in the countryside.

I'm my previous post I should have said "defending the right of zealots to threaten (as they all do) those they disagree with or who satirise their religion." You're a liberal - so am I, overwhelmingly - but I'm just concerned that if we turn the other cheek too often it will be to our detriment. It would have ended badly if we had done it the last time fascism reared it ugly head in Europe. Or perhaps you don't agree that Islam as a fascist faith - denying all those of other faiths, and none, the right to exist and promulgate their views. If that's the case I would be fascinated to hear your arguments and will read them avidly in hope that I can be persuaded of their validity and stop worrying about my children's future in a Muslim majority (by 2050) GB. Or are you scared that if you do that you could, rightly, be called a defender of religious zealots instead of someone who uses sarcasm and low invective to counter the views of others. Break cover why don't you? Give us the positives to counter the negatives seen by some here. Tell is why we should tolerate a fascist faith I'm our midst, or tell us why Islam is not a fascist faith. Were those passages in the Koran that refer to is as "infidels with less value than a dog" inserted by right-wing journalists? Did the Daily Mail invent the fatwa that sent Salman Rushdie into hiding for years? Did someone fake the speech by the top Waller and Holocaust denier in Iran I'm which he said he wanted to "blow Israel off the face if the Earth because it had no right to exist" - sparking worldwide fears that he would turn his country's "peaceful" pursuit of nuclear capability to offensive purposes? Oh yes, and Islamic State ... I know they've said they want to spread their faith across the globe but I'm sure they'd leave us alone when they learn that you're defending their right to co-exist on their terms in a pluralist democracy. We need to know where you stand please. I'm sure you have a good case so let's hear it.

  11. Funny ... That half the world wants to live here it seems and competition to buy homes as a result has pushed prices through the roof. Wonder why that is? I understand that property in Afghanistan is quite cheap. Must be a reason for that but I can't quite work it out ....

  12. There's a great filter called "ignore and read another post". It's in your head. I use it all the time - along with the "off switch" on my TV, which I use to avoid seeing things I don't care to see, and the superb mechanism we can use not to taste things we don't like called "not eating them".

It works brilliantly. You should try it - or perhaps you enjoy the righteous indignation or sensation of overwhelming fury reddening your cheeks!

The domestic violence issue is a disgrace - as are honour killings - and both are huge issues the Muslim community, in particular, needs to address

  13. I'm perfectly capable of ignoring things I don't like, my point is that while you were on your enforced absence I didn't have to...

did i sound like this during the indi reff? please no.
honestly sp i dont want a battle.

  15. I refer you to my earlier post:

If you could think of something new to say, and manage to say it without being rude and condescending, then maybe...

Hell - who am I kidding - let's move on. Nothing to see here!

  16. Oh look speedy triple is back winding up the masses
You recruiting for anything particular or are you trying to ram your opinions onto others

  17. Speedos may be entirely correct in what he is saying here or he may be unnecessarily alarmist - I'm sure there is some small element of truth, at the very least - but either way, what can be achieved here?

Trying to resurrect the Crusades here in a Ducati forum has a limited chance of success. In the face of overwhelming apathy, time and time again, I would have thought it was obvious that nothing will be served by banging on about it all. Unless the object of the exercise is not to persuade but to troll ...

So, right or wrong, there's little point in winding people up who don't care or who don't agree that there is cause for concern. An occasional reminder that we are all doomed will suffice ... followed up by the Mother of All I-Told-You-So's, when it all goes pear-shaped, of course.

Can we move on or are there still mackerel to be pulled in?

  20. I'm sure there is every avenue to be attacked in this country surely it would have been done before now
What has stopped it happening here ?
Do we have the best security and intelligence?
    Is it on it's way
Who knows but I'm not going to have sleepless nights worrying until I need too
    Scaremongering I think is dangerous
Arming people with the knowledge to help themselves would be good not winding them up
Everyone has their own view thank goodness
Talk about Islam converting you anyone would think speedy is converting us in some way
