I'll give it a go, are you running Windows 8, dude? Thank you for the patient advice btw, after a frustrating go the other day it's very much appreciated!
Ah no probs. Im not runnin W8 but im pretty sure it doesnt matter. Ive read a few threads about newer laptops being problematic. I looked at 2nd hand laptops and they can be found for little cash. After that just make sure you check which port the usb is plugged into in Device manager and you are good to go.
You can identify the type of KKL lead you have by plugging it into your computer. FTDI - the LED does not illuminate Winchiphead - the LED illuminates The links for the drivers are in this post Free Diagnostic Software | Ducati Forum
FTDI then Only lights up when the black and red clips are connected to a 12v power supply. That's a big help thanks
Try running the uninstall utility to remove any previously installed drivers FTDI Utilities Then run the VCP drivers http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM v2.10.00 WHQL Certified.exe Then plug in the KKL lead
Thank you so much, your driver links have done the job PERFECTLY. I was able to complete the cabletests successfully and am now excited to get the bike hooked up
