At one of the demos in Rennes they were throwing boules de petanque at the riot police ! They burnt the parliament building down as well - that may have been an accident though from someone firing flares at the Police ! I went to Paris to run the Marathon and there was a demo at the Trocadero that weekend. I took this picture - very well behaved
