Are we becoming too soft?

  1. H&S is a British disease that affects no-one else but the British. That's because the British cannot live without rules, and H&S lives on rules.

  2. And I just found this statement on the HSE website which sort of pokes holes in your argument.

  3. Using H&S to defeat common sense is the most frustrating thing. In actual fact, I didn't really come across any problematic H&S when I served. It was obvious stuff like ear defence, helmets, eye protection. If a job needed doing it got done, and the risk assessment tried to mitigate the risks before hand. It seems to be mostly civvies that use it as a defence.

  4. You've got to have rules.

Where would we be without rules?

    Thats right

  6. Corrected for you.

  7. Did they have their hi-viz vests on?

  8. Actually if you read it properly, mine isn't an argument.....Its a Statement of Fact and I'm fairly certain you haven't been on selection.

  9. That bit's opinion, not fact

You're right, I haven't been on Selection, the nearest I can claim is Senior Brecon.

  10. Yep, 'opinion' not 'argument'.........and I suggest you don't comment on things you don't know about as you are beginning to sound like a lefty local authority jobsworth.......(IMO )

  11. You wear an orange hi-viz panel on the top of your bergan and have a GPS locator also fitted.

  12. If we all stop commenting on things we know nothing about then it's going to be mighty quiet round these parts
