If you get a chance to live somewhere that isn't the UK, you should take it. Obviously, the decision rests on the nature of your ties to this country. If they are loose, you may find re-locating relatively painless. If you have strong links, it'll be hard. Take it from me, you can get used to heat, even if you believe you cannot normally stand it.
My sister moved there lock stock and barrel 15 years ago. She moved because the weather in Birmingham was crap. She could have just moved to the South Coast here where the weather is immeasurably better. She keeps asking when we are going to come and see her again (we went for a few weeks back in 05) but I keep saying no. She moved there, why should we pay to go all that way to a crappy place that is infested with snakes, the curry is shit and is basically not particularly pretty and is likely to explode into flames at any moment?
Do it.... Lovely place... bit like London (Sydney), but with much better weather. We loved the place. The only thing that ever worried me is that everything that crawls the land or swims in the sea or rivers..... wants or can kill you.
My friends been in Brisbane for 10yrs now. The following is a clipping of his FB message to me a few months back. Left me green with envy “Took the Daytona up to Pomona for Mead tasting, amazing roads up there, stopped off at Wild Horse Mountain on the way back...“ I remember thinking at the time yeah best I can manage is a motorway trip to the new Ducati Worcester this weekend if it ever stops raining, which it didn’t!
When you go will be selling your Ducati collection for a ridiculously low price? Asking for a friend....
Will be offloading a load of gear, looked at importing the bikes but looks like a mind field, will buy something when I get there, I’m thinking my Keiss heated jackets will not be required
Good luck with the move. Having been there on holiday a couple of times I don’t think you will regret it.
Do it. Take a fire extinguisher. Don't come to NZ, you wouldn't like it, the roads are all over the place and the weather is too much like home!
Don't forget the DDT and a flamethrower. And maybe a squad of Royal Marine Commandos, just to be sure.
Only place I've ever been thats twice the price of Dublin bring plenty of sheckles !! ! Depends on how you like your lifestyle when emigrating have a couple of mates out there they love it and i traveled a fair bit too Oz never floated my boat as somewhere to live !!
