  3. Was looking at those. Not keen tbh, then I saw a pic on this thread of someone wearing one and actually liked the look. Funny how it can change simply by sticking on a wrist

I know the one I bought is a manual wonder (assuming its just clockwise, having kit had one for 35 years!) bit also looking at a couple of quartz and auto ones for every day use.

  4. I’m out and about tomorrow and can see me visiting my watch supplier, just say hi of course ............ not ! Andy

  5. Don’t tell me that :scream: Andy

  6. Negotiating a deal at the moment for this beauty, chopping the B&R in for a good price, only to find that the fuckwit of a dealer back in 2011 filled the warranty card out with incorrect serial no. 2 digits incorrect. That’s cost me £300 as it’s now classed as box but no papers!!! Lesson learned, always, always check the details are filled in correctly

  7. I do like these. And I even owned one (for a day) But isn’t it strange? When these first came out they were being traded back as quick as they were being sold! Too chunky. People couldn’t get on with them. You could pick one up really cheap at that time.... Not now though o_O

  8. Mahusive even obese listening to some traditionalists......but when you compare to my other big diver, not so, my Hublot is 48mm x 24mm thick and a better depth rating at 4000m although I don’t even wear it in the shower:)

  9. You could do what my son did when the Omega Speedamaster auto I bought him for his 18th stopped working, and take it to a repairers claiming it was broken when it just needed winding.

This is also the boy that recently didn’t know how to operate a wind up window when I bought my 1990 Transit based motorhome so there’s a bit of a theme there.

  12. I have an automatic winder for my Seiko's, although I have more Seiko's than spaces on my winders, so the ones out of favour live in the safe, along with my Tag and Breil Ducati watch. I have far too many watches really, but just like watches I guess.

Ive been looking at Watchfinder and Chrono24 for a second hand Panerai and noticed quite a few of them are advertised with NO papers. Although they say the price reflects no papers are they still worth considering or would you not touch them. Also I find WF prices quite high, in some cases only a few hundred pounds cheaper than a new one, any other companies you can suggest or better to look for some smaller, independent dealers.

Which B&R did you have, happy with it ?

  14. Check out blowers jewellers in hull, used them previously and maybe chrono 24. I like to visit and get my hands on the goods and Watchfinder has an outlet in Birmingham. The “no papers” with my B&R is due to the serial no being out by 2 digits, it’s irrelevant really as it’s not covered under warranty anyhow! I’d be more interested to know check have been done to ensure it’s not nicked or indeed a fake. I had a BR02 94 in carbon black And very happy 2011 model and never missed a beat

  15. I have bought mail order from these guys before and they gave an excellent service. They even added links into the strap as requested before sending it out
